(Each report is $300) Matrix Software has recently updated many of their professional report writers from DOS to Windows, running under the name of Win*Writer. While this Windows update has all of the features enjoyed by those using DOS Matrix programs, including allowing you to choose which sections of the report you want to print (e.g. leave out introductory or general explanatory chapters if you'd like to) and to select the aspect set, Win*Writer adds the capacity to choose serif, san serif, or script fonts, modern or traditional rulerships, and whether to include in the report one of the new beautiful title pages and/or a page designed by you (with your own logo, etc.). Moreover, you can save reports to a file, for editing in your word processor, or send the output directly to a built-in word processing program called the Win*Writer editor. This editor allows you to view reports on screen instead of having to print them out, as well as to change the font, point size, justification, margins, and paragraph format. You can also embolden, italicize, or underline any text you wish, as well as find and replace any words in the report. The editor even allows you to insert your own images and pictures into a report, and to design your own user page to add to reports, complete with your own advertisements, graphics, logos, etc. Excellent! Win*Writer also makes it simple to change the text in any part of any of the reports permanently, so that the interpretation of a specific aspect, planet is a sign, or an introduction is just what you want it to be. This is a very important and easy to use feature, as many astrologers want to be able to add their own insights to reports. The program includes a complete U.S. and International Time Change Atlas for over 200,000 cities and towns. In other words, the program will automatically insert the correct longitude, latitude, and time zone for the birthplace, date, and time of the chart. The program's online help is excellent. It outlines each step of every procedure in the program. You may never have to refer to the manual at all. Win*Writer's enhanced autojob feature allows you to create sets of jobs, so that you can automatically print a series of charts and/or reports for a person at the push of a button. It's easy to create an autojob, selecting any number of reports and/or wheels, the fonts you want used in each report, the number of sections to include in each report, etc. For each chart wheel, you can specify (and create) any set of aspects, as well as choose the style of chart wheel. You can also control what points are displayed and what points are aspected in wheels, as well as whether to draw aspect lines. Among the reports offered by Matrix are old standbys like Friends & Lovers, one of the best compatibility reports available, The Sky Within, Stephen Forrest's tour de force introduction to your chart that reads like an actual conversation, the AstroTalk extensive birth chart interpretive program, and TimeLine, which both interprets and creates time graphs for transits and progressions. The newer offerings are all well done: Child*Star is by far the best report on a child's chart, Woman to Woman is a superb in-depth birth chart report for women (including chapters on opening your heart, meeting the world, power issues, and more), and Heaven Knows What uses the writings of famous astrologer Grant Lewi to prepare a complete birth chart analysis.
